		<title>Fresh New Look for AHR&#8217;s Studios</title>
		<description><![CDATA[&#160;

 At the start of 2012 it was decided that the paint work in the studio, which had been on the walls for nearly 10 years was looking a little tatty, so as part of the hospital&#8217;s redecoration project, we were very kindly offered the chance to have the studio freshened up. The decorators moved in on the second week in January and spent just under two days sprucing the place up.

		<title>Christmas Eve Live Day</title>
		<description><![CDATA[As most radio stations were winding down for the Christmas period, Auckland Hospital Radio lined up a whole day of live programmes for the patients, staff and visitors of Bishop Auckland Hospital.<br /><br /> Simon Temby started the day and one of the highlights of the day was the network request show where we joined forces with our good friends at <a href="http://www.baytrustradio.org.uk">Bay Trust Radio</a> to provide requests for as many wards as possible.]]></description>

		<title>Christmas Bag Packing Raises £600</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<br />On Sunday 11th December, volunteers from Auckland Hospital Radio packed shopping in Sainsbury's Bishop Auckland. The staff at Sainsbury's last year welcomed us for the first time to their new store and this was the second year we provided a bag packing service to customers. <br /><br />Once again the people of Bishop Auckland were extremely generous and £600 was raised between 11am and 4pm.<br /><br />Lindsay McElhone, Fundraising Manager said "We're really grateful for the generosity of local people and this money will go a long way to supporting the service into 2012." ]]></description>

		<title>2D Community Festive Fayre</title>

On Saturday 19th November 2011, Auckland Hospital Radio will be attending the 2D Community Festive Fayre at Bishop Auckland College.
Come along and see the exhibiters. We&#8217;ll be there with our own stand, so pop up and say hello and we&#8217;ll tell you all about what we do. If you&#8217;ve ever fancied getting involved in Hospital Radio, this is the perfect opportunity.

		<title>Quiz Night Raises £757!</title>
		<description><![CDATA[On Monday 14th November 2011, Auckland Hospital Radio held it&#8217;s Quiz Night at The Spice Lounge Indian restaurant in Bishop Auckland. The night was a great success raising £757 for the station.
Station Manager Simon Temby said:
&#8220;It was a great night, as it always is at The Spice Lounge. The guys there are so friendly, the food is always fantastic and everyone was in good spirits.

		<title>Tickets Selling Fast For Quiz Night</title>
		<description><![CDATA[
Auckland Hospital Radio are once again holding a quiz night at The Spice Lounge Indian restaurant, Fore Bondgate, Bishop Auckland this coming Monday (14th November 2011 at 7pm).
It&#8217;s usually a very enjoyable night, with a picture quiz, general quiz and the ever popular music round. A buffet meal is served to each table with all selection of the usual favourite Indian dishes after a starter of Onion Bhajis (which are the best I&#8217;ve ever had).

		<title>Great North Run Success</title>
		<description><![CDATA[On Sunday 17th September 2011 Auckland Hospital Radio took part in a simulcast of the Great North Run. The broadcast originated from the studios of Radio Tyneside which provides hospital radio services in the Newcastle area. Their studios are conveniently placed near the starting line just off the central motorway.
A gazebo was set up outside their building with a temporary studio inside and reports were sent back to the studio from various places throughout the course using radio mics and 3G mobile technology.

		<title>AHR Cover The Bupa Great North Run</title>
		<description><![CDATA[On Sunday morning, from 9am Auckland Hospital Radio are linking up with Radio Tyneside in Newcastle to provide live coverage of this year's Bupa Great North Run. Our very own Craig Robinson, Simon Temby and James Bancroft are joining the Radio Tyneside team in Newcastle, whilst Dennis Duncan will be looking after things at our studios in Bishop Auckland.

		<title>60 Hour Marathon 2011</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Auckland Hospital Radio has completed it&#8217;s annual 60 Hour Marathon Broadcast.  From 9am on Friday 8th July the team at AHR went live and broadcast 60 Hours of live entertainment.
The Chairman of County Durham and Darlington Foundation NHS Trust, Tony Waites opened the event.

		<title>Auckland Hospital Radio exclusively broadcast Music and Arts Festival</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Auckland Hospital Radio were the only media outlet to broadcast from Bishop Auckland&#8217;s Music and Arts Festival. 
Volunteers from the station attended the event on Friday Afternoon to speak to bands and interview them about the three day event, in the grounds of Bishop Auckland College. This was broadcast, on Saturday, during a special programme with Chris Nisbet. 
Saturday has seen live broadcasts of Soul Superstar Beverley Knight, and headliners The Hoosiers.
