Tuning In
Auckland Hospital Radio is available via a number of mediums. Below is a guide of how to tune in to each.
Bishop Auckland Hospital – Bedside
We are available on the Hospedia system on all bedside units in Bishop Auckland Hospital. Auckland Hospital Radio can be found on Channel 1. Auckland Gold can be found on Channel 7. Radio is free, although you may need to register your Hospedia unit before you can tune in. Simply press the green operator button to register your unit. Once registered, just press the orange radio button and choose channel 1 or 7. You can listen to us via headphones or speakers built into the unit.
Bishop Auckland Hospital – Public Areas
Auckland Hospital Radio is available in the following public areas :
- Chimney’s Restaurant
- Main Outpatients
- WRVS Shop
- Urgent Care Centre
- Radiology Reception
- Physio & Rehab
- Women’s Centre
- GUM Clinic
Each area is controlled by the individual department so Auckland Hospital Radio may not be playing all the time.

Auckland Hospital Radio is available 24 hours a day via our website www.ahr.org.uk – simply click the player icon at the top of the screen to tune in. If you want to spawn a player outside of our website, click on the links under the ‘Interact with AHR’ section of the website. Unfortunately we cannot currently offer Auckland Gold to listeners outside the hospital.
Online through an Internet Radio
Auckland Hospital Radio is listed with several major radio station guides such as Roku, Shoutcast and Radiotime. Simply search for “Auckland Hospital Radio”. If you wish to manually tune your device our full streaming address is http://listen.ahr.org.uk:10428 – Unfortunately we cannot currently offer Auckland Gold to listeners outside the hospital.
Online within CDDFT NHS Trust
Staff members using Trust PCs with speakers (or built in speakers) can listen to Auckland Hospital Radio via the computer. To tune in, open Windows Media Player from the start menu. (Usually located under – All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment) Click file and select Open URL. In the box enter http://hospitalradio:8080 If you’d like a permenant desktop shortcut for our service, please call extension 5453. Unfortunately we don’t currently offer Auckland Gold to staff within the hospital.
Online – Mobile Phones
Our stream is available via Yourmuze.fm which means you can access our service through your mobile phone, even if you’re only in a GPRS area. Sign up to Yourmuze.fm on your PC then you can access it with any mobile phone which supports basic web browsing. Your network provider may charge for data usage.
