The Auckland Hospital Radio 2010 Grand Prize Draw has taken place. The draw raised £630 and the funds will go towards continuing the service to the patients, staff and visitors of Bishop Auckland Hospital. We’d like to thank everyone who purchased tickets and supported the station. Special thanks also go to Morrisons Supermarket at Bishop Auckland for allowing us to sell tickets to their customers on 10th July.

Auckland Hospital Radio’s annual Grand Prize Draw will be drawn on Sunday 11th July at 11am. Volunteers from the station are in Morrisons Supermarket in Bishop Auckland today to sell tickets.
Prizes include a DAB Radio, DeWalt Drill, Spa Days, Gym Memberships and much more. Tickets are only £1 per book and all proceeds go towards keeping Auckland Hospital Radio’s service available to the patients, staff and visitors of Bishop Auckland Hospital.

Today as part of the 60 Hour Marathon broadcast Richard Smith interviewed Miles Copeland. Miles is aiming to raise  £3500 for Butterwick Hospice Care at Bishop Auckland, Stockton and the Childrens Hospice, by circumnavigating the globe.  
He is doing this as a solo bicycle ride from New York to Washington DC and then across to Los Angeles on the west coast of the United States.
