Today volunteers from Auckland Hospital Radio attended the annual Great Aycliffe Show.

Working alongside other charitable organisations to promote ourselves, we also interviewed stallholders and exhibitors and produced a special two hour programme.

Local lad, Miles Copeland, has reached Washington DC in his latest challenge to cycle across America, in aid of The Butterwick Hospice in Bishop Auckland.
Miles joined us at our Annual 60 Hour Marathon Broadcast to talk about his challenge to cycle the 3,500 miles. With nothing more than his trusty bicycle and a tent he hopes to raise more than 3,500 pound for palliative care within Bishop Auckland.
It hasn’t been an easy ride for the 24 year old. He contacted the hospice from Washington to update them on his progress:

Welcome to the brand new Auckland Hospital Radio website. We timed the launch of the new site with the start of the 2010 60 hour marathon broadcast which took place on Friday 9th July. The event was a huge success raising over £600 for the charity.
